"One of the things I enjoy most about my work in partnering with clients is the satisfaction of watching them start businesses, grow them, see them make an impact in their respective communities and industries, and then ultimately helping them successfully transition through the sale or succession to the next generation. That’s been very enjoyable and rewarding over the years."

ChSNC®, CLTC

PARTNER & FINANCIAL ADVISOR

Scott brings extensive experience to the partnership in the areas of comprehensive financial planning and estate strategies, tax-efficient strategies, investment solutions, risk management, retirement income planning, executive benefits, and business continuation. Based around a consultative approach, his practice is concentrated in working with family-owned and closely-held businesses. Assisting businesses and their owners with customized financial planning and solutions is one of Scott's practice specialties.

Scott earned his B.A. from Texas Tech University in 1993 and launched his financial services career in 1996. In 2008, Scott joined five other colleagues of PFG Advisors to build out their shared vision of a comprehensive planning firm unique to the Greater Lubbock and West Texas region. Having worked in a closely-held family business for several years prior to becoming a financial advisor gave Scott unique insight into the challenges businesses face. Often, the business owner wears many hats in the day-to-day life of the business, and the business can be the largest asset in the family's net worth. Scott has a firm commitment and belief that a well-designed and objective financial plan is the first step to providing the clarity needed to make important financial decisions over time for both business and personal concerns and objectives.

Scott is also certified in Long Term Care Planning (CLTC) and works closely with clients to design the appropriate strategies to protect their assets and lifestyle in the event that long-term care is needed.

In addition, as one of the few SpecialCare planners in West Texas, he is able to assist families with planning for the financial future of a disabled or special needs member through the development of a life care plan. Scott has been recognized by various industry associations for his commitment over the long term to helping clients protect and ensure legacies for generations to come.

When he is not working, Scott enjoys cycling, traveling, and spending time with his wife, Rachel, their two sons, Harrison and Luke, and their dog, Murphee.
